Information for Rhinology World Presenters

Rhinology World 2009 will be held April 16-19th 2009 at the Sheraton Philadelphia City Center located at 17th and Race Streets, Philadelphia, PA.

Speaker Ready Room:
Franklin Room
A technician will be available to download your PowerPoint presentation on Wednesday April 15th, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and throughout the meeting 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
You are required to download your presentation at least 4 hours prior to your scheduled presentation time. Uploading presentations at the podium is strictly prohibited.

Audio/Visual:
Rhinology World will have the following audio/visual equipment available for your presentation:
  • Technician
  • LCD Data/Video Projector

    Registration:
    All presenters must be registered for Rhinology World by April 1st.
    Any Abstract that does not have a registered presenter by April 1st will be pulled from the program.

    Manuscripts:
    Manuscripts are not required. Those wishing to submit manuscripts for publication may do so to Rhinology or the American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy through their respective websites.
    Presenters wishing to compete for the International Rhinologic Society prizes must submit their papers to the AJRA by March 25, 2009, as well as by email to Cathy.Lafferty@uphs.upenn.edu.

    Oral Presentations:
    All presentations must be in a PowerPoint format.
    Oral presentations are limited to 7 minutes. Sections to be covered include:
  • Background
  • Methodology/Study Design
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusions

    Video Presentations:
    The video session will take place on Saturday morning (April 18th) from 10:30am - 12:30pm at Salon 5/6. This session will highlight endoscopic techniques and surgical procedures from around the globe. Authors are instructed to prepare a four-and-a-half minute presentation that will consist of the following: video in windows media format (.wmv)
    video may be imbedded within a PowerPoint (.ppt) presentation
    videos can be narrated live from the podium or have sound imbedded
    Given the nature of video presentations, authors are required to have their presentation loaded in the speaker ready room by Friday (4/17) by 3:00pm to ensure their proper playback.

    There will be a designated computer station in the speaker ready room for video abstracts.

    Poster Presentations:

    Dimensions: Posters may be no larger than 4' x 4' (1.2 m x 1.2 m). Poster display boards will be tagged with your ID number. (ID numbers will be printed in the program.)

    Pushpins: Pushpins will be provided by Rhinology World.

    Set-up: Posters may be placed on boards as early as 8:00pm on Wednesday April 15th, 2009. Go to poster board with corresponding abstract number, set up poster, and attach abstract number to the upper right side of the poster.

    Take-down: Posters must be removed by 1:00pm Sunday April 19th, 2009. It is the responsibility of the poster presenter to remove all materials; otherwise they will be destroyed.

    Presentation: There will be no designated time for presenters to stand by their posters.

    Format: Posters should include a title, authors, and affiliations. Sections of the poster should include:
  • Abstract
  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • References
